Layn is an Olympia native and graduated from Olympia High School where he played football and wrestled. Layn continued wrestling during his college career and returned to the Olympia area following his graduation.

When Layn isn't at work, he is coaching various wrestling teams and helps run the family farm with a strong work ethic that has translated into his job duties as an aide. He has a huge interest in athletics and how physical therapy can help with injury prevention.

Layn loves spending time outdoors, hunting, golfing and being active.
