Balance is required to stay stable while your weight is transferred during a full swing.

To hit the ball long distances, you must use the body’s prime source of power: the large muscles of your back and hips. In the middle of this power house is the spine. To use the big muscles properly, it's vital that you have core strength (the deeper small muscles that provide stability to your spine) and recognize and execute correct positioning of the spine during the swing.
Movement Training...Butt Out! 
When you stand with your butt out, the spine naturally straightens, then the arms can hang down from the shoulders. If you can maintain this position of keeping your butt out from start to finish -- it will make it much easier to do a full turn. If you are unable to do this you will compensate and potentially injure the low back, shoulders, or neck.
